Week 6 ! (Final Week)

Day 44: Globe AZ - Scottsdale AZ (60 miles)

We decided to go opposite routes this day. Mike was heading up north with the girls we met and back down to meet us in Phoenix. Me and Luke decided to head straight for Phoenix. We biked about 30 miles until we realized it would be to dangerous to continue on the highway. We hitchhiked a ride to phoenix and continued north towards a house that Lukes mother, Leanne hooked us up with. We got there and had dinner with the neighbor Sam and got to play a couple games of call of duty before bed. I grabbed a W.

Day 45: Scottsdale AZ (day off)

We slept in until about 9:30 and had breakfast with the neighbor named John. He bought us breakfast and gave us great life advice that I will always remember. We grabbed a tee time at the best golf course I have ever played at by far. We grabbed some food at the restaurant/bar at the course and met mike back at the house. Props to mikey doing about 150 miles and plenty of elevation in 2 days.

Day 46: Scottsdale AZ - Northern Phoenix AZ (25 miles)

The next morning we cleaned the house and had an interview with Boston 25 news and Chris Flanagan. Interview went great and he told us it would air the next day. We cruised to the hotel in northern phoenix and called it a night.

Day 47: Northern Phoenix AZ - Wickenburg AZ (48 miles)

Our next deatination was about 50 miles away in Wickenburg which happens to be the rooing capital of the US. We saw a dive bar in the middle of this old western looking town. We met a few kids that we played some pool with and discussed mental health with for a few hours. We also ran into a roping team of about 10 guys that were there for a few weeks. Thwy bought us a couple beers and told us about how roping worked and found out you can actually make really good money if you are good enough.

Day 48: Wickenburg AZ - Salome AZ (59 miles)

We wnded up getting a late start this day which was around noon so we knew we were chasing daylight the whole day. Luke popped a tire but we had a quick fix and continued pushing. We stayed at a $32 campground called the KOA which is apparently a campground chain. The place was awesome and had a hottub that where we met a couple from San Diego that informed us about the ride up to Jacumba Hot Springs. They told us it was a really tough ride and advised hitchhiking once we got to the bottom. (This will come back up in a few days.)

Day 49: Salome AZ - Blythe CA (58 miles)

This was a pretty easy ride that we took our time with and finally crossed into California. It was crazy to think we finally made it to our deatination state. We were now mentally ready for San Diego and felt like we had hit the last leg of the trip.

Day 50: Blythe CA - Brawley CA (86 miles)

So at first we thought we would be going about 50 miles to a place called Glamis but the campground was closed so we actually had to do 86 miles. Fortunately the second half of the day was downhill. Glamis was actually

One of the coolest areas of the trip and had a ton of sand dunes that people were driving ATVs and Buggys on. We ran around the dunes a little and took some drone videos but had to keep it pushing to get to the hotel by sunset. We also bought some cowboy hats in Glamis which was strange because we didn't but them in Texas or another cowboyish state but they were cheap and cool so we all grabbed one.

Day 51: Blythe CA - Jacumba Hot Springs CA (44 miles)

We were very excited for Jacumba Hot Springs because none have us had ever seen or been in a hot spring before. We took a little detour and ended on one of the worst roads of the trip that seemed like it had gonw through multiple earthquakes. We did a little more than 40 miles and got to the hill I brought up a few days before and we had to hitchhike because it was way to dangerous to ride on. We aplit into two groups and mike and one of the girls got a ride within the first 2 minutes. Me and Luke had no luck for about 30 minutes until a crazy situation occured. The people in the hottub from about 100 miles back drove by us coming off an exit and picked us up. We tossed our bikes in and they drove us to the top of the hill where Jacumba was. Crazy coincidence.

Day 52: Jacumba Hot Springs CA (day off)

We decided to take a day off to enjoy the hot springs and take a day off. The springs were very relaxing and people kept telling us this place was full of energy I guess which was pretty cool. They had great food and we had dinner at the hotel restaurant met some cool people and had a good night sleep before our last long day before San Diego.

Day 53: Jacumba Hot Springs CA - Alpine CA (46 miles)

We were all pretty tired this day and it started with mostly an uphill battle. Mike tried to fix his seat and snapped a metal screw which made his seat unscrewed and spinning around for the second half of the ride. Luckily the second half was completely downhill and we cruised into Alpine our final destination before SD.

Day 54: Alpine CA - Ocean Beach CA (34 miles)

Final day. We took our time cruising in and I actually fell off my bike and smoked my elbow with like 20 miles left which was the only crash of the trip thank god. Kind of hurts but least of my worries right now. We approached San Diego and Ocean Beach Pier. Put our bikes down and sprinted into the ocean to take a dip. About 100-150 people were watching which was pretty funny. We finished the trip and can now take the load off.

Thank you all for the endless support along the way. We could not have done this without you. We appreciate more than words could ever express. Hope these posts helped some of you follow along and it will always be a nice thing to have to look back on. Thank you for the love 🙏❤️
